I think I might be pregnant with my second baby, my first born is 17 months and I'm not sure what to think at the moment, a bit in shock I guess.
Also not particularly sure why I'm posting, I guess for advice/support. I haven't told my husband yet.
I ended up having an emergency C section delivery, and recovery was difficult so I guess that worries me again!

I’m 11 weeks with a surprise second pregnancy. My first baby has only just turned 11 months.

I was really shocked at first and didn’t know how I would cope. As time has gone on, I’m started to feel excited. Still bloody stressed about nursery fees though!

Not sure if this is helpful. But I’m there with you!

Congratulations my first was 18 months when I fell pregnant with my second. I had a very difficult first delivery. Height of Covid so laboured most of it alone. 4th degree tear huge PPH ended up in ICU. They wouldn’t let my husband Stay due to Covid. Rough recovery.

my second I had a planned section and it was a dream. I had a side room. He was born at 5pm back in our room by 8pm no PPH. I stayed in two nights and day 3 we went to the park as a family of four. The recovery was so much easier second time even with a newborn and a toddler. My husband is military and he deployed 6 weeks later and yes it was hard but totally manageable.

Ahh, congratulations. I'm glad to know the excitement has come for you and I'm not alone in not feeling it straight away!

Money is such a worry isn't it, babies are so expensive for such little humans!

That sounds like a horrible experience for your first delivery, not what any of us would like/expect.
I'm glad you're second delivery went well and that a planned section was an easy recovery. I definitely hope that's the case for me.
We live abroad and have no family close by, so I guess that's another worry on top!

Congratulations!

I had almost the exact same age gap and also had an emcs with my first. If there's anything specific you want to ask about, I am happy to chat 😊

You'll be alright with funded hours! It's the berry tax that'll kill you off haha

What kind of birthday did you have for your second.

I had an elective section. It was very strange to choose my baby's birthday!

I had gestational diabetes and knew I'd have to be induced at 38 weeks, which lowered my chances of a successful vbac, and I just didn't want to be away from my first child for too long, either.

How did you find the recovery of an elective?

It honestly wasn't too bad. I had an infection the first time, but not the second. I was also better prepared and had bought a bed rail to help me at home.
