Rage towards my partner

I’m 12 weeks pregnant. Two kids already (2&4) so life is already busy. All
frozen embryo transfers after IVF.
anyway… my husband is a great dad & great partner. Wouldn’t say things are 50/50 but after we had kids, he took over cooking because I couldn’t manage. We divide up general household jobs.
this pregnancy has me floored, no being sick, but I’m nauseous & feel hungover. I’m the past 2 weeks or so, I have such rage towards him. Minor things that I could usually let slide just grate on me. I don’t want to spend time in the evenings, I just want to be alone because he annoys me. When he asks me something mundane - I can’t help snap.
please tell me this will end soon…. We’ve booked a romantic trip away in a month, my idea, as I know we need to reconnect… I just hope I’m over the rage stage.. right now, I’d prefer if we just chilled out separately for the trip… which isn’t ideal.

is this normal or what’s going on?!

Hormones. I think with each subsequent child they get worse! 😆 Although tbh my youngest is 13 and I still intermittently feel rage towards my DH - although now I think it’s perimenopause hormones! Be easy on yourself, you are growing a life and with 2 kids already you are bound to feel extra exhausted. Make sure DH helps out so you can rest x

Have you told him how you’re feeling? I’ve mellowed out in pregnancy but the IVF drugs made me feel crazy (and was so irritable with me), it took the pressure off telling my DH I wasn’t myself and he could then understand why I was behaving as I did and didn’t take it personally

We were away for a weekend together during my oestrogen only phase for the FET and he told me I had been shouting in my sleep. I had literally dreamt that different people were standing in front of me one after the other and I was just arguing / shouting at them. Honestly that is where I was at!

I have a friend who 21 weeks now who said she’s been a complete cow since three days before her period was late. I really hope it levels out for you soon

The worst thing you can do right now is beating yourself up for something hormonal / which isn’t your fault 🫂

Ah, hormones are such lovely things. Hopefully they should calm down in the second trimester or at the very least start being fun hormones.

Yeap I had the same with all 3 pregnancies in 1st trimester. Rage and also hated his smell. Not that he stinks just his natural smell. And I explained to him I needed apace and not to take it personally.
After the madness has calmed down around 14-16 weeks I really make up for that lost time with him. But ask him to be patient as it is not "me".

Nope 9 pregnancies and never had this, brilliant dh and not fair to be snapping all the time
