How long did you take prenatal vitamins for before trying?

The most effective period is actually the 3 months before conception, not the 3 months after (most people don’t know this though). So I took them for 3 months before conception, and until 12 weeks pregnant.

One of the important vitamins to take is folate (your body can store a lot of it so you can start building up your folate stores well in advance of pregnancy)

Three months. You only really need folic acid and vitamin D so save your money on the fancy branded stuff.
