I'm in HCG hell! .

So after 14 months of TTC I'm finally pregnant! 😊 my LMP puts me at 5 weeks 2 days. I had my beta HCG tested on October 1st & the level was 242, I then had the beta repeated 2 days later (41hrs to be exact) & the level was 421. I'm so worried I'm going to miscarry. My GP thinks my numbers are too low & he wasn't happy with the 2nd numbers. I'm patiently waiting for my 3rd beta numbers but I'm honestly so confused. Everything I've read says my doubling time is fine & it puts me at a doubling time of around 53hrs. I need some reassurance that my numbers are okay and I'd love to hear anybody elses experiences of low numbers around this stage. Thanks

So ideally you wanted that number to be around 484 which would be double but you tested slightly sigh of 48 hours so I wouldn't be super concerned. I would wait for the next one.

HCG doubles every 48-72 hours. So yours might be closer to 72. But that’s still normal!! Our IVF clinic would have been fine with that. Sorry your GP has worried you. The important thing is you’ve had a significant rise. Wait on your 3rd beta but honestly, it’s totally normal. Best of luck, I totally understand the anxiety this causes!

Well all that panic for nothing! My 3rd beta came back at 956! Puts me at a 40hr doubling time between beta 2 & 3 😁 thanks for the replies ladies x

Glad you got good news. The actual number varies massively. It’s the doubling time that’s really important.
