Advice on illness with a newborn?

My c section is tomorrow I’ve been scheduled in due to RFM - I’m currently battling a cold… chesty cough, sneezing and just blocked and runny nose.

has anyone gotten sick around the time of their c section and the baby didn’t get it? I’m thinking to wear a mask? The doctors said everything should be fine but I don’t want baby to get it?!

She does get it she'll be in the safest place possible I wouldn't bother too much

The doctors aren't concerned about a cold. They are concerned about RFM.

I’m not concerned about the section I’m just wondering what’s the safest way to protect baby from the virus as this is my second virus in three weeks - I had a section with my first for also reduction of movements! The consultant was very informative but it’s more is there anything I can do to help protect baby without the obvious like hand hygiene etc.

Will you be breastfeeding op? If you are she'll likely get antibodies to whatever it is your fighting off through your milk.
my eldest had the flu when I we had a newborn at home, just had to keep ontop of hygiene and hope, she never ended up with it
