Positive pregnancy test after light bleeding and a negative result

Hello!
im so confused- we are TTC. My period was due yesterday but a day before I had one wipe and it was pink then nothing for 24h (very unlike me as I never spot) I tested negative yesterday morning then my period arrived very light in the afternoon. I’ve had light bleeding (enough to require a pad but not filling it) I had one test left and due to the odd pink wipe a few days ago I thought I’ll just try it and see and I did it today and it’s a faint but very clear pink positive line. I’m now very confused as I feel a chemical would have tested positive before bleeding and then the bleeding began but mine has been the other way round- negative test, light bleeding and then a positive whilst still lightly bleeding! I am going to get some more tests tomorrow but has anyone experienced this? Thanks!

Oh that’s tricky! Many women do bleed in early pregnancy so it’s very possible that it’s a true positive…but also it may be a chemical and the test is just hormones that haven’t left the body yet, but like you say weird that it was negative yesterday. Much as I wouldn’t normally advise testing daily I think that might be the only way to work out what’s going on before you are far along enough to have any kind of scan. The body can do very weird things, especially where pregnancy is concerned!
