Early pregnancy loss (5.5 weeks) or side affect of period delay tablets - confused!

feeling very confused on what may have happened to me earlier this week
I was expecting a period a few weeks ago but had taken some period delay tablets whilst away on holiday.
oddly whilst away I had a few occasions where I questioned whether I might be pregnant (but very early days)
I dismissed it as it took 2.5 years ttc my first, and he was born via IVF.
a few days ago I had sharp cramping followed by a bleed which I assumed would be a period. The next morning I passed a grape sized grey sac with attached blood clot. It was very unusual so I called my husband to show him, who also agreed that he wasn’t sure if I had experienced an early miscarriage
the affects of period delay would normally be heavier clotting and I believe in rare circumstances you can have a decidual cast - which mimics the shape of the uterus. This wasn’t that. I have taken these tablets numerous times in the past and never passed anything like this. I feel in my gut that I may have been pregnant, but I also don’t know whether 5.5 weeks would have been too early to have seen something.

how were other peoples experience at an early miscarriage stage? Or maybe you experienced something similar on period delay tablets?
just wish I had tested when I had that niggling feeling but I was away and very doubtful!!

The gestational sac I passed at 6w was the size of my little finger nail, mine was an ivf pregnancy so dates exact & was confirmed by ivf nurse.
it’s only around 6mm at 5.5w, a grape would be too big. Could your dates be out? Maybe take a test, the hCG would still be detectable for some time, you would know for sure then, or it could just be part lining attached to a large clot.
