23 weeks pregnant and have thrush
my consultant prescribed me to have pessary once a week for 4 weeks. Been really anxious to use them as I don’t want to do anything to harm baby ( had complications in last pregnancy)
Used it with finger as guided by consultant and now im scared I have inserted it and pushed it too high and too hard/forceful and will harm baby or affect the cervix. When I first did it it was stinging so I pushed it up abit more with a little force and felt a resistance. And now I’m scared it’s going to damage cervix.

can anyone tell me if I’ve done right or I might of done something wrong

thanks

It’s not going to damage the cervix! That’s impossible. You’re fine.

You’ll be fine.

I've been on progesterone pessaries my whole pregnancy and am just shy of 23 weeks. I do 2 a day and used to be 3. You can't hurt the baby using them. It is occasionally possible to experience bleeding if you scratch the cervix during insertion - this is more likely if you use the plastic insertion tool than if you use a finger. And it happens pretty much straight away in my experience. Please don't worry.

Does your midwife team have a number you can call? If so I'd call it. Sounds from others here that this is fine, so maybe now you're happy to leave it and move on, but you might feel better if you've talked to a healthcare professional.
