Empty sac on early scans and unsure about dates or viability

Almost convinced I’m losing my mind here hence the post. Any advice or other experiences (good or bad) would be very helpful.

LMP 12 August (5/6 days as normal) regular 28 day cycles as per.
intimate with my partner 25th, 26th, 28th August and 6th September.
Tested positive 12th September (faint line but obvious, no squinting required). Tested on CB 13th = 1-2 weeks.

Had some left sided pain & cramping so went to EPU and had a scan 17th of September - could see empty sac, nothing else / HCG 620

Booked in again on 24th August - 4mm sac still empty / HCG 5020 was told pregnancy was most likely non-viable and booked to come back 7 days later.

Went in this morning (1st October) and gestational sac is measuring 11mm now but still empty, no yolk sac fetal pole etc.
Midwife suggests I should be 7+1 based off LMP.

I’ve had 2 DC and never had a MC before / non viable pregnancy. Doctors have said they’re ok to provide treatment to move things along as they’re confident nothing will change moving forward. I still have fatigue, nausea and sore breasts too, unsure whether to move things along as I do have two other children and work full-time & knowing there’s nothing growing whilst having all these symptoms is ALOT😭. Could I be pregnant from 6th of September or am I clutching at straws here?

I am so very sorry for everything you are going through. Please do not feel pressurised to make a decision right now. You should be able to request waiting and checking again, via a scan, in two weeks time. Your bloods should also be taken every two days to check your HCG levels are rising as they should be.

If this has not been arranged then you should/could call and request this. My bloods were taken at my GP practice.

Sometimes, we can ovulate a bit later than what we initially think. Sometimes the egg is not fertilised right away. These things can occur. I suspect that these thoughts might tend to plague you if you do not wait to make a decision.

I have experienced MMC before and what a doctor had initially assumed was a blighted ovum. The wait between scans was absolute torture and nothing can possibly ever describe the toll it took. I would recommend seeking out support from loved ones in your life who you know will be supportive. Keeping it in and not sharing this would likely make you feel worse. Please don't feel as though you need to keep a brave face on for anyone.

I wish you the very best and there is no harm to ask for more time to think and also for a repeat scan in two weeks (if they have not arranged this) and the all-important HCG bloods to be taken regularly. It all helps to provide the best possible picture of what is going on. I am very sorry for everything you're going through.

@IceCreamCone543 thank you for responding.

they were initially doing bloods however I’m also difficult to get blood from, I’d been poked and prodded all over my arms and hands!
Based off 3 scans however I’m assuming that’s why they’ve decided not to carry on doing them as HCG can still increase while the sac grows etc.

I’ve had slight pink discharge today with cramps so I’m guessing it won’t be much longer before the process begins, it’s the not knowing that’s hard x

Yes, it is the not knowing that is truly hellish. I am so sorry that you are stuck in this situation. It is so stressful trying to figure out what the right path forward is. Are you able to have a relaxed day today? A day where you can hopefully stay in bed and do nothing? It won't magically make things better but it would give you a chance to get a bit more relaxed. They can always take bloods from the sides of your wrists if they cannot manage to get any out of your arm or hands... I'm also a struggle for this. Dehydrated veins make things more difficult. If regular bloods would make you feel better then you could always still ask your GP about doing them... please don't feel as though you cannot ask. I am so sorry you're going through this
