Hey been trying to conceive for 4 years. I did conceive and my son died before he was born and had to give birth since then not been pregnant once. Is there any vitimins or anything people tried that worked. Under fertility specialist and they said that my option would be ivf but it’s not gonna be free due to already giving birth. Any help

I think you should challenge that

Blueuggboots · 29/09/2026 15:02

That’s dreadful if they’re excluding you when you have had that trauma. I’m very sorry.

Anothercake · 29/09/2026 15:30

Definitely challenge that. Usually the criteria is a living child, not your situation.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
Only live births count but your ICB board may conditions such as having to wait 2 years of TTC since your loss. Please contact them for clarification

oh yeah if your partner has children already unfortunely you can’t have IVF, some areas allow support with ovulation and things though, have you tried this?

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s awful - I did 7 years.
We did nhs ivf then private and I wish I’d just gone private straight away because the nhs took so long and nothing worked and they wouldn’t do any investigations.
im currently pregnant with my second ivf through the private clinic.
if you can get the money just do it and if time is not on your side get the embryos tested for viability so you don’t waste time implanting ones that aren’t going to work.
wishing you the very best of luck.
feel free to DM me if you want to know anything else.
xxx

we had metformim and then letrozole. Then they stopped the letrozole I have another appointment in December. They said I just don’t ovulate.

It’s around 5k for egg collection then 3k per transfer so 11k

Have they done all tests and checks? So sorry your going through this I would challenge them on this and speak to another Dr etc.

Also what tests did they do? A very useful and helpful YT channel run by a board certified infertility Dr helped me it os called I feetility TV and the Dr is Ramdy Morris.
Gives advice on testing and checks and what to ask for.

What have you tried youraelf so far?
What life style changes, diet and supplements have you and your partner tried/done.
