Hi, a similar problem was discovered with our 20 week scan. Waiting for the 34 week scan too. We were told though that the problem may correct itself by then, but if it becomes more serious then the baby might need to be monitored after birth.

yes, sounds like kidney reflux....9 out of 10 cases clear themselves. If babs still has it at birth he will be put on anti-biotics to prevent any urine infections which can go on to caue kidney infections and scarring of the kidneys.

It can run in families, it did with 3 of mine. Was found in ds2 at 20 week scan. He had to have op at guys just before he was 2 as it didn't clear. Then ds3 was found with it at 20 week scan, he was on anti-biotics for a year and then it cleared itself. So after that we all got scanned and ds1 was found with scarred kidneys as we never knew he had it.

Quite common really and as i said most cases just clear themsleves.

if you have any questions just ask.
