32 weeks pregnant and just accidentally drank oat milk that was six days past its use by date. Should I be worried? I’ve been so careful until this ☹️

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

You should be fine. If it was kept in the fridge, it’s probably ok for about 7-10 days past the date.

Did it seem ok? Taste and smell alright?

Thanks for your reply @Lizzieregina. Yes, it tasted normal although I had it in tea which may have masked any sourness or smell? Is this the kind of thing you should call your midwife to check or will they roll their eyes at me?

I think if it was going to cause you a problem, you’d start to feel ill. So if you had any issues with nausea or cramping or a fever, then I’d definitely call right away, but as long as you feel ok, I wouldn’t worry.

I looked it up and it said in the fridge, 7-10 days past the date and if it’s the shelf stable kind, it could be good for a month after the date. Also if you only put some in your tea, it’s a small amount.

I know when you’re pregnant everything’s a worry!

It is! The anxiety is real. Thanks for your replies. 🙂
