Early days for me, but trying to think positive that I may not get it after moderate sickness with dd and v bad sickness with ds....

Anyone give me any hope I might not this time...?

Thanks, Dinny

Thanks Dinny, I am 19 wks. I think I may relax abit if I get past 24 wks. Am having lots of scans etc. Good luck with your blood test, hope all is OK. I was worried sick a few times with DCs when I was pg there were all kind of bugs. I think I worried about slapped cheek too but all turned out OK x

I suppose I will worry if I don't as did with both the others, wonder if it is related to miscarriage, whether you do or not

re viruses - as a mother you come into contact with so many of them, don't you?

I have 2 boys and had sickness (actual vomiting) atleast a couple of times a day for the first 4.5 months. May be this is a sign to say I should not even try for a girl

Ds1 sickness on and off until 14 weeks
ds2 no sickness

nooka · 01/07/2008 13:33

Not for ds (first) and some for dd (second). I think it might have something to do with your general physical state though - I was much more run down with dd, and I had a baby at the same time (ds was 8mths when I conceived dd).

A friend of mine had very severe morning sickness with her first (ended up in hospital on a drip) but not second time. She swore it was the bacon and toast that she ate before getting up second time around that did the trick. Certainly what you eat does make a difference.

dd1 sick once ( after eating a caramel kit kat). Hardly any nausea.
DD2 ( am pg 20 weeks) 1st 3 months terrible nausea and vomiting with any smell. Now waves of nausea usually pass if can get past the smell quickly..

I think it is to do with your general nourishment at the time of conception, sure I suffered so much with ds as was small age gap with dd

Awful sickness with DD practically all the way through. This time, with a DS on the way, sick for first few weeks and nothing since, hurrah!

Hyperemesis with dd1 (drip_
'Usual' morning sickness with dd2
Hyperemesis with dd3 (drip)
7 weeks with no.4 and no nausea or sickness yet!! May be lucky this time as sickness had kicked in at 4.5 weeks with dds

I had terrible morning sickness with my first child, then with the second didnt have any at all. Infact I didnt even know I was pregnant until I was 16 weeks pregnant second time around. This time I have it terrible again, and feel sooo tired that if I am sitting down for longer than two minutes then I am asleep. Good luck I have my fingers crossed for you xx

Hmmm. I'm with you, I'm hoping it's not so bad third time round. I had horrendous sickness with both my DD's for about five months. I'm five weeks or so now and feeling a bit pukey, but if it stays manageable - I need to look after a baby still (Woops)- then I'll be happy. With my last two I couldn't even get out of bed. Grim. I have heard it is worse with girls too and babies give off different hormones depending on the sex. Interestingly, this time I don't have sore boobs at all, so I'm praying it's a boy!!

Had none with DS - now 10 weeks gone with no2 and havent had any yet (though am eating pretty much constantly to stave off the perpetual pregnancy exhaustion am suffering at present); am keeping my fingers crossed that I dont get any this time round...

None with ds. Have had it with this ds. Not major, but gagging every day. Went away and then came back with avengeance.
No logic to it, is there ?
