Baby’s growth slowed down 22 weeks

I am having biweekly scans due to Kell antibodies but the good news is baby is negative so these won’t affect her and u was due to go down to standard monitoring. However my baby has always been in the small side around 11/12th centile but my latest scan at 22+1 she dropped to 4th. Her AC growth rate was averaging about 11-12mm per week but has dropped to 7mm per week. However all the Doppler and placenta, amniotic fluid checks have always been fine. So I have to go back every two weeks to keep an eye on things.

my question is has anyone else had this? Can it just be normal that things don’t always grow the same velocity each week? I’ve attached my charts so you can see my graphs. Just looking for some advice as I’m really worried. Thanks

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Both mine stopped growing, albeit later in pregnancy. I was told small baby is fine but growth slowing down not so fine.

All my tests were ok too. I had Regular scans and checks after this and ultimately induced early. Likely one was due to undetected pre eclampsia (undetected as all the usual bp, urine tests were fine) and other pregnancy i got a unspecific ‘Placental insufficiency’ or similar, but no real reason could be found.
I would ask your consultant what the plan is for monitoring and managing the pregnancy.

I wish you luck xx

Ok thank you, I think the plan is just to scan biweekly and check everything continues to be fine just smaller growth rate. I think a lot depends on my next scan as so far only had one that has showed reduced growth rate so could be an anomaly he said. How early were you induced? I am just hoping I can get to at least 28/30 weeks xx

Yeah I guess the slowed growth rate coupled with the comparatively increased umbilical artery pressure is the concern. Great you're getting close monitoring. Everything crossed for you x

I was induced closer to due date, because the growth stopped later than yours. But, with no.2 they started to monitor earlier and then wanted to stop the monitoring midway because everything looked ok. I had to kick up a fuss about that, they grudgingly agreed to continue the appointments and next scan there hd been no growth. So keep on at them

Ok thanks, I don’t think they are worried about the umbilical artery is it only went up by 0.01 which apparently is completely normal. The thing is I know that she was originally measuring a week ahead for my 12 weekly scan (husband was away so we can pinpoint the only times we dtd the month we fell combined with a positive ovulation test) so based on my due dates she’s fairly average size for a 21 weeker instead of 22, but they won’t use that or take it into account. I just hope if there is an issue then she can hang on in there as long as possible x
