I just want bog standard short sleeve tshirts ideally v neck and none of this smock malarky. A top that finishes at my waist band. The only ones i can find are like £20!

I have a load from H&M. Think they were between £5 and £10. I'm 5'10" and 33 weeks pregnant and they cover my bump easily (but are fitted).

Next usually have packs of 3 plain t-shirts

Bundle · 30/06/2008 14:21

top shop?

JessJess3908 · 30/06/2008 14:34

I reckon Peacocks www.peacocks.co.uk/Products/Womens_Catalogue/Maternity

and New Look www.newlook.co.uk/women/maternity/maternity_tops/ProductList.aspx

Are the cheapest. Had a quick look and can't see a plain v neck tho - sorry.

Matalan have normal t-shirts but long and cover the bump, im 27 weeks and they're fine - £4 each

also Peacocks

Sallypuss · 30/06/2008 15:51

I got 2 lovely one's from New Look for £5 each. Couldn't buy them online only instore. Little bit on the tight side so buy a size larger than your 'pre pregnancy' size.

Mothercare have some white ones but quality is a bit suspect and they're fairly pricey for what you get (£9).

bikerunski · 30/06/2008 16:13

I'm 29 weeks and wearing Primark ordinary lycra stretch shirts in a size or two bigger than usual. They are long enough to cover bump nicely. Because they are stretchy they are not too baggy round the boobs. This all depends if you don't mind showing off your bump. Works well for me, I hate the flappyness of maternity t shirts. May need to get some more Primark T shirts in a bigger size again towards the end of pg, but at £2 each, not a big problem! Loads of colours, and stripes, and v neck or round neck styles. Quality is a bit suspect too, but you'll only need them for a few weeks. Depends on your moral stance on very cheap sweatshop clothing too.

mad4mybaby · 30/06/2008 16:14

its ridiculous really. a new look that stocks maternity is too far away and have been all over the place online. You wouldnt think it'd be so hard to find something so 'normal'

Dorothy Perkins - £7?

mad4mybaby · 30/06/2008 16:15

if tried the whole 'buy a size bigger normal clothes' but im quite petite (height and weight) and just looks ridiculous esp as im pg

I'm only 5 foot and size 8 - 10 and I found the stretchy £2 t shirts in primark were fab - I just bought a 12.

Sazisi · 30/06/2008 16:18

I got some good ones in topshop, but that was nearly 2 years ago..

mad4mybaby · 30/06/2008 16:19

the same with primark, too far away and you cant buy online..

this is from dp website

But they have loads in store - just plain t's

notcitrus · 30/06/2008 16:51

M&S are doing some long Fairtrade T-shirts for a fiver which work well for me as they come down to the top of my bumptrousers.

I got trousers that fit but soon found I needed longer tops to avoid a gap in the middle - luckily local M&S had various longish stretchy tops on sale.

finallypregnant · 30/06/2008 17:05

I didn't bother with maternity tops. Just bought from Primark and the like as most have cheap deals on with their plain t-shirts at the moment.

Sazisi · 30/06/2008 18:01

mad4mybaby · 30/06/2008 19:10

Are you signed up for your local freecycle group? I got a lovely big bag of nearly new (you wouldn't know they weren't new) maternity clothes that way at the weekend. Didn't need to spend a penny or traipse round the shops!

bikerunski · 01/07/2008 17:35

Aye, I got some stuff from Freecycle too.

Anglepoise · 01/07/2008 17:37

Pumpkinpatch have a sale on at the moment ... I've found that Topshop non-mat t-shirts fit me okay (29 weeks)

Elmosgirl · 01/07/2008 17:39

I just brought cheap t shirts from Primark in a much bigger size.
