Hi all FTM here

I am currently 17 weeks and just wondered when everyone started feeling some movements and if on and off movements is normal at this stage?

I had my 16 week scan last Monday and baby is happy and healthy, I feel like after that I started to feel some slight movements which I am assuming is baby, however some days I don’t feel like I feel anything. Is this all normal I am assuming at this stage with them being so small? I never got told where my placenta is located. I have my 20 week scan in a couple of weeks but I have had a scan nearly every week for the last few due to a SCH so this is the longest I will go without seeing the baby so my anxiety is starting to creep in.

TIA xx

I started feeling DS around 16 weeks and DD was a bit earlier like 14.5 weeks. At that stage they are still small so if the move you might not feel them for a while. I think at that stage sometimes it could be like 3 days between feeling movements. I felt movement every day consistently from 20 weeks and then started my kick counts at 28 weeks.

In 17wks as well desperately waiting to feel some movement. It’s almost keeping me awake at night trying to concentrate on feeling anything. I think it was around 17-18wks with my first. I have my big scan in 2 weeks time. Just hanging in there until then hoping I feel something before it.

I have my scan in two weeks aswell! Feels like a lifetime to wait doesn’t it! I hope all goes well ❤️

It’s so hard isn’t it when it gets to the point you can start to feel movements but a lot of FTM like me tell me that it’s completely normal not to feel anything till like 18-20 weeks and even the NHS website says it’s normal to not feel anything until 20 weeks so I am just focusing on that and trying not to let it cause me any anxiety as it’s not good for either of us, the baby is still so small at this point xx
