Have they offered you progesterone?
I’ve had a really awful day on the bleeding front myself. I’m 18+2 with an IVF pregnancy. Also have endometriosis and a prior first trimester loss
I’ve now had - including today - three enormous bleeds, today being the largest. Woke up and it was bright red. All over the floor and down my legs. Then carried on gushing with movements. I went to the MAU and I passed a 5cm by 5cm clot whilst there, also still had it running down my legs. Got scanned and offered progesterone with a caveat the evidence is mixed on whether it helps, although it causes no harm. I do have a low lying placenta which is slightly touching the cervix but they said the level of bleeding today was heavier than what they see for that normally. No pain at all. But the level of bleeding has been ridiculous since 7.30am, it’s began to reduce the last 3 hours and I’m back home. They did offer for me to stay in for observation but given I’ve had two similar bleeds before I was hoping for the best. The mid wife put her hand on me when they were scanning me and she saw the blood 🤦🏻♀️
Sorry your post is more organised than mine! But I had a huge bleed at 7+1 the day after my first scan and passed a clot about half the size of my palm. I was already taking progesterone at that point. The bleeding continued for about 3 weeks but it moved to dark brown blood after the first 72 hours. It was suggested the first internal scan had dislodged an old bleed
I had another bleed at around 13 weeks which wasn’t quite as heavy as the first and lasted for around two weeks. Again clots for the first 48 hours and then it moved to dark brown blood after. No explanation based on the scan
I then had about 9 days of brown bleeding around week 16
I’m sorry it’s so unnerving when there’s no explanation especially when you’ve had prior losses. I did notice today my cervix had gone from 34mm at 16 weeks to 27mm so I want to ask about that
I do wonder too if it’s an endometriosis thing? I also had laparoscopy surgery at the end of last year. I would say I’ve probably bled for around 50% of this pregnancy, if not more
I actually posted on here after the second bleed in August asking if women could share success stories because I was so baffled about how things could work out with this level of bleeding. Some very helpful replies. Feeling a bit less optimistic today about things so need to go back to that thread!
