Has anyone experienced pregnancy symptoms very soon after conception?

Has anyone had pregnancy symptoms immediately after conception?

I am aware the suggestion may sound nuts given that implantation doesn't take place immediately but ...

With my first, I had started feeling nauseous (I think) a few weeks before I took a pregnancy test. The 12-scan said I was further along than I had thought (so it transpired I was about 5.5 weeks along at the time of the pregnancy test) which means the nausea must have started not at all long after conception.

Husband and I have decided to go again (yay!). Saturday was the first time we ... And I have felt weird since Sunday. I have that strange nausea that I have only ever experienced during pregnancy.

And, no, there's zero chance conception could have been earlier because we hadn't ... For a while.

It's all in your head. It's just not physically possible.

There's nothing physical at all that would make you feel nausea that quickly. But the brain is a powerful thing and thoughts can and do manifest into physical feelings.

Fingers crossed for you.

Or I just feel nauseous for an entirely unrelated reason 🤷🏼‍♀️

Exactly. I hadn't thought anything of it but I feel pretty rough and I'm not usually a nauseous / sicky person (and the only time I've felt like this was when I was pregnant!) so it got me wondering. I then thought back to last time and how the symptoms must have actually started really early on.

It took us so long to conceive, last time (to the extent it came as a surprise when I saw those two lines - I only took a test because hubby suggested I should!) and I only realised I'd been nauseous for a while because I'd mentioned it to my MIL some time before (not at all thinking about pregnancy!) which she then referenced when we told her we were expecting (I'd have otherwise forgotten about it).

I have been pregnant 17!times. Every time there was a second where I felt a tingling in my nipples like an electric shock. Just after my period was due. At the age of 39 I was watching tv when I got that feeling. No reason to think I was pregnant. Got a test , positive.

My boobs hurt within a few days of conception with my 3rd dc, which was weird because they never did when I was pregnant with my other dc or before my period.

Do you mean 1 day after sex?

Not possible, its something else.

A week / 10 days after sex... everyone will say not possible but I'm sure I felt something every time. Including the times I wasn't pregnant.

😉

A week to 10 days after is definitely possible. The embryo implants from 6dpo and HCG then starts building up. So it is absolutely possible to get symptoms from then onwards. Like you say from day 1 it’s impossible as there are no hormones to cause the symptoms. But yes progesterone causes many “pregnancy” symptoms like sore breasts and that rises after ovulation whether you are pregnant or not!

About 7 days after my second daughter must have been conceived I stood up from my seat at work and had this sudden, agonising stabbing feeling just below my belly button on the right side. It was painful enough that I exclaimed “ouch!” Out loud. Later that day I went to the loo and was spotting, thinking that my period had come early, but it didn’t last. Five days later I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I’m pretty sure what I felt was implantation, just weird as I never had it with DD1. It also bloody hurt!

As soon as sperm met egg I knew. My body is extremely sensitive to chemical changes.

Impossible. As soon as egg implanted you could possibly conceivably sense something. Absolutely not when sperm met egg.

Within a week - nipples felt really weird. I knew I was pregnant. Took a test, negative. But looked at it 30mins later, faint line. So… trip to the doctor. Again in clinic test said negative but she did bloods to be sure. Pregnant

How many days are you past ovulation? That matters more than when you …

I 100% had symptoms 5-7 days dpo! Maybe the science doesn’t back it yet, but our bodies are amazing and some of us are very sensitive

newrubylane · 16/09/2026 23:13

I had pregnancy symptoms within a week or less of conception, well before my period was due (I have short cycles and ovulate early). Unbearably sensitive boobs and severe lower back ache. It did turn out to be twins though, so... 😆 also, I did test negative at that early stage nonetheless.

Got my body have you? Implantation came at 5 wks. I had a positive test after 1 week from dtd.

I actually started to feel sick about 6/7 days after conception. I can remember going out for an Xmas meal and thinking, 'I can't eat this'. Very sore boobs a few days later. I took a test two days before my period was due, and a very dark positive line came up.
