i am about 5 weeks PG and seems to have a stomach bug. running to the loo all the time. i am wondering if anyone knows if this is dangerous for the pregnancy? obviously there's nothing much that can be done anyway but should i be worried? dont think it's food poisoning as whole family seems to have it.

is it diarroeha?

TotalChaos · 29/06/2008 21:54

not nice to have these things but please don't worry. just try and stay hydrated and take paracetamol if you start running a temperature then take paracetamol.

yeah, it's diarrhoea and some stomach cramps. otherwise i feel fine. no temperature or anything.

go to your gp and get some rehydration salts, im sure it'll be fine!

Silvermum - i had the worse tummy bug at about the same stage. Just drink lots, i called doctors in the end as i couldn't keep fluid down and told to call again if still the case by tea time (this was about 11am) and they would give me something to stop me being sick. They also said diarrhoea was not so much of a concern as persists longer than sickness.

It stopped (sickness) after about 5 hours although diarrhoea did go on for longer.

It took me a few days to get over it as i was very drawn and tired. However pregnancy fine and now 39 weeks waiting to pop! baby will take what it needs from you, try not to worry (however i didn't manage that bit too well!)

Me too, I had one at exactly this stage and was similarly concerned but my GP wasn't and she was right, my little girl turned out fine!

thanks for the reassurance. bug seems to be getting better - touch wood- so am just hoping all will be well...
