Was found in a scan (requested for something else) that I was ployhydraminos, with deepest pool 10.6cm. I then waited in triage for 3 hours and only being told to go home without a face to face consultation. I know it was not okay and I was overwhelmed that day, so I am trying to get a doctor to call me back to discuss but not sure how successful it will be. I’ve tried to write to PALS but haven’t had any tangible success.

Anyway, in the meantime, I wanted to ask a couple of questions if anyone has been in similar situation.

  1. if my water break, were you advised to be on fours with bottom in the air and call an ambulance or did you just go in as normal
  2. if you were seen in similar situation, what was the care plan offered?

I'm not keen on induction, but want to hear any personal experience or the care plan that was offered to you?

I have polyhydramnios but I’m 36 weeks. I asked the fetal medicine doctor about the waters breaking and what to do and she said to just head to hospital straight away. She said if you suspect labour as well just go straight to hospital.

I had a slightly deeper pool than that. My waters broke naturally at home at 41+2. Called triage they said if I can feel anything between my legs get on all fours with bum in the air and call 999. Luckily I didn't but went straight to hospital. Baby was born 4.5 hours later.

I had polyhydramnios and was told to get on all fours if my waters broke. In the end I was induced and had an emergency section.
