5 months pregnant - lower abdominal ache

Hi,

I’m 5 months pregnant with my first and have been having lower abdominal aches (I’ve had abdominal aches throughout pregnancy) and it’s quite a persistent ache. My bump doesn’t ache just much lower down. I have no bleeding, no fever, no abnormal discharge so just want to know if anyone else has had this and if it’s quite normal? Throughout my adult life I’ve never had period cramps (maybe this is my comeuppance) so this is all new.

I am 5 months pregnant too but with my 3rd and getting cramps and even some braxton hicks. There’s a lot of growing and stretching going on so some cramping is totally normal, like the PP says though if you’re worried or it’s really painful it’s worth just asking your midwife. They won’t mind and it will put your mind at rest.

It is probably ligament pain from everything stretching out down there, which is very normal.
I would get checked out though as better to be safe than sorry

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your comments. It’s tricky as I don’t want to be a pain and apart from that having an incredibly smooth pregnancy. I generally have the feeling for a few days and then it calms down so hopefully that will happen. I’m also a teacher and first day back was Tuesday after a long and lovely period of relaxing and not doing much but I will definitely contact the midwife.

So, contacted the midwife who sent me to triage. Heart rate all good but I have suspected thrush which would make sense. Hoping that no clear, gush or water type fluid happens but should be fine. Thanks for your earlier guidance.
