Hi,

Sorry me again. I had a scan at 5weeks and 2 days which the gestational sac was measuring but it was also measuring this 3 days earlier without fetal pole detected,we saw the fetal pole with a strong heartbeat. The sonographer was very surprised and even commented that it was very early to see. I'm just curious to when everyone saw there little ones heartbeat? I'm scared incase the embryo and gestational sac ratio is off, there was no mention of the yolk sac and I couldn't see it on the ultrasound. The baby looked a little squished in the sac like it was more advanced than the gestational sac if that's possible. Also my hcg levels doubled then the next lot only went up by 499 in 48 hours so I'm worried Incase they are stalling. Has anyone had anything similar.

I think really you can only wait and see. Have you got another scan booked? I had a scan once at what I thought should be 6w4 and I only measured 5w4 but there was a heartbeat. I was concerned about measuring a week behind but was told not to worry. Unfortunately the repeat scan 2 weeks later showed the heartbeat had stopped and no growth. But if you are measuring on track then there’s no reason to think it’s a similar experience. What have your HCG readings been? They are meant to double every 48-72 hours. So if it’s a bit under at 48 hours it may be ok as it can still take up to 72 hours. What were the actual readings? And was the hospital worried about it?

My hcg went from 2179 60 hours later it was 4179 then 48 hours later was 4678 this is when I was told it was ectopic as in the Friday when hcg was 4179 there was what they thought was gestational sac measuring 5+2 then on Monday when the bloods had just been taken the Sunday and only gone up by 499 the scan showed a fetal pole clearly with a heartbeat
