Negative tests despite symptoms and being one day late while TTC

Hi there!

I am currently TTC with my partner for the first, and we've only tried once, but I am one day late, but have been experiencing a lot of nausea over the last four days (to the point of throwing up a few times) and very sore breasts. I tested with an early test 2 days ago, and it was negative. I tested this morning again and got a negative result again. I did track my ovulation using BBT, multiple LH tests, and monitoring the cervix and cervical fluids, so I am sure I ovulated on time.

Has anyone been through the same? And did you turn out pregnant?

Love, Kim

Unfortunately I'd assume not pregnant, simply because if you had enough pregnancy hormone in your system to cause nausea, it would be enough to show on a test. It's therefore more likely the nausea is caused by something else, and perhaps being ill has also messed up your cycle a bit?

It’s really unlikely you’d have morning sickness at one day late. TTC really makes you pay attention to stuff you never did before. I had ‘pregnancy symptoms’ every single cycle while TTC until I realised they were just normal hormonal effects that I got every month but had never paid attention to. Ironically the cycle I got pregnant with DD1 I had even fewer symptoms than a normal cycle!

I still get the same stuff going on now two kids later but now I notice as I’m more attuned to them, the sore breasts, appetite changes etc. Before they just never registered with me.
