hi I’m just wondering really if anyone else has had experience of this I am just driving myself crazy researching online. So I’m 29 weeks tomorrow went for my midwife appointment today and baby has dropped from 10th centile (3 weeks ago) to just below 3rd centile today. This is my second pregnancy and my first was always above the 97th centile and was 8lb9 when born. I have been referred for a growth scan which I know it is best to just wait for that before I start to panic but I can’t help myself and now I’m worried my placenta is failing or baby is struggling to grow. Any experiences would be appreciated Thankyou.

Is this just the measuring with the tape?

if so, in my experience it was nonsense. I was repeatedly measured ‘big’ and they sent me for 3 growth scans - all of which were normal.

you might just carry differently. Go for the growth scan and check all ok but try not to worry!

Yeah if this is a bump measurement I wouldn't be concerned at all, it's all nonsense. Many hospitals don't even do them any more because they are so inaccurate.
With my first I went from 75th, to measuring small and urgent growth scan (where he measured normal on the scan). Next bump measurement was huge. Sent for another growth scan. Normal again. Third time measured small again and a third growth scan was triggered. Still normal 🙄

My baby went from being on around the 5th to the 0.3rd centile 10 weeks before she was born, I was getting bi-weekly scans (for unrelated reasons), she was born 2 weeks early & weighed 6.2lbs, so small but not worryingly so. Even ultrasounds can be off, please try hard not to worry/over research, it’s very possible you just have a small, healthy baby! Hope you’re doing ok
