Bleeding 4 days ago and previous miscarriage - should I get checked at hospital?

I had bleeding 4 days ago - mostly brown and I think some very light pink/red earlier in day, thought it was period but stopped later and I did pregnancy test which was positive. Next day tests were positive. Haven’t had bleeding since but now I’ve read if you’ve had bleeding and also had previous pregnancy, you should get checked and prescribed progesterone? I had no idea about this. Should I phone EPU and get checked? Thank you.

hey, it could be implantation bleeding which is normal.
do you have any pain? if so call them but
my trust only prescribe progesterone from 6 weeks if you’ve had previous losses.
as long as it’s not heavy fresh bleeding it could be completely normal

If youre pregnant and have experienced bleedind I'd definitely get it checked up so they can rule out ectopic

I would be contacting my midwife and ask for a scan at early pregnancy unit, or call them directly. Alternatively, if they won’t give you a scan, I would get a reassurance scan at a private scan clinic.

I was 3 weeks 5 days when it happened and only tested as stopped and didn’t develop into a period. Nothing since as mentioned, 4 weeks 2 days now. I never thought anything of it until I read that you should be prescribed progesterone today if any bleeding occurs and you’ve had MC before. Now I’m panicking.
my local EPU is closed since 4pm and it’s closed on Bank hol Monday. I don’t have midwife yet as only self referred the other day and still waiting to hear from them. Private scan not really affordable right now.

edit: also had no cramps or symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy

Deffo sounds like implantation or liagments if it’s 3 weeks and 5 days! most places won’t scan you until 6 weeks anyway.
As long as no pain it sounds normal x

If the bleeding has stopped then that's a good sign. I would self refer to EPAU if that's possible or give them a call first thing Tuesday (you could also go to your GP and get them to refer you). They'll help you. It's probably too soon for a scan as they won't be able to see anything but they can advise you regarding whether you should take progesterone and they can do blood tests 48h apart to check if the pregnancy is progressing normally.

If they dont want to see you immediately when you call them you can always go to A&E on Tuesday and say you have pain and have had bleeding and hopefully they will see you then.

They need to see where the pregnancy is so won't scan until nearer 6 weeks as people have said and then they will consider progesterone. You have time. Fingers crossed. I feel your anxiety. My daughter had a miscarriage in March and is trying to get pregnant so I know how anxiety inducing this all is.

Also just wanted to add, when I had bleeding early in my previous pregnancy they booked me for a scan but only a couple of weeks later but they didnt suggest the 48h blood tests so I just showed up to A&E and advocated for myself. They did the first blood test that day and another 2 days later and that gave me so much reassurance. Don't be afraid to ask for things.
