Worried about taking 150mg aspirin in pregnancy after reading the leaflet

Hello,

A little worried, could say I'm freaking out but I've just read the instruction leaflet in a packet of 75mg aspirin. I was previously taking dissolvable 75mg aspirin for the last two weeks but it tastes horrendous so I've managed to find coated tablets that I can take to achieve the 150mg recommended by my doctor and midwife for risks of preeclampsia etc.

(I apologise if this worries anyone else)
The leaflet inside basically said I shouldn't be taking more than 100mg daily in second and third trimester due to risks of kidney and heart issues in the baby. That the aspirin basically affects the amniotic fluid etc.

Anyone else heard of any issues? The doctor and midwife have told me nothing so I'm thinking of phoning up after the bank holiday weekend to question the risks.

Hi I’ve also been prescribed 150mg aspirin due to previous high BP at the end of my last pregnancy. The only info I’ve been given is to stop it at 36wks… I too have read the leaflet but taking the stance that they alway have to state the risks for any medication especially in pregnancy. I think the risk of pre eclampsia outweighs other risk factors. I’ve been monitoring at home and im well within normal range so I’m going to have a discussion about reducing to 75mg if it continues to behave itself

I took 150mg aspirin all the way through both my pregnancies (stopping at 36 weeks) both healthy babies with no issues.

@TwisterSpice thanks for the reassurance!
