I'm going book shopping this weekend and wondered if there are any that people had found particularly useful, from early pregnancy onwards? Don't know where to start!!

The Yehudi Gordon one is excellent if you want a more serious educational tome (I like to know everything )

I also loved "Expecting" by Anna McGrail and Daphne Metland. Written in a calm and relaxed yet informative style - no scare-mongering. Lovely to be able to read about how your baby will develop that week.

i second hanaflower, i got the pregnancy bible (great no nonsense factual style book) and the rough guide gives a more personal view as it is done in diary style (although as others have said it still contains all the facts and helpful advice). I have found with those two i don't feel the need to buy anything else.

the pregnancy bible also includes lots of post birth care advice, which i am finding helpful as gentle preparation, like feeding, sleeping and washing advice.
