Hi Im just writing this to get it out really.

Currently 11 weeks +3 with my 1st. Yesterday woke up to a lot of blood, so obviously you think the worst and we rushed off to a+e.

3 and a half hours of the worst fear of my life and we get a scan. They are ok thankfully and the relief was huge. But they told me my cervix is fragile so it will likely happen again a few times and not to come back next time.

I cant imagine how id survive if we lost them. Im so greatful they are ok I just had to say it somewhere. My heart is hurting for everyone who has gone though that and similar and lost their baby. And I know something could still go wrong for this pregnancy which is so scary.

I had 2 big bleeds before 12 weeks and I was told that while it can indicate miscarriage, some women do just bleed - whether it happens once or twice, or intermittently throughout their pregnancy. For this pregnancy everything was fine, but the next time it happened I miscarried. I wish you all the best x

oh love it’s such a scary time. If it helps, I bled in both my pregnancies several times. Especially the first one, bleeds at around 6 weeks, and 11 weeks, 20 weeks and again at 39 weeks (ended in. C section at that point) but both babies made it through to full term. I get lots of spotting when I’m not pregnant too, seem to have a very irritable and bleedy cervix. So glad baby is ok and hopefully all will be ok xx

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I bled at ~8 weeks (I'm currently 9+1) - like yourself, A LOT of blood. Had to wait all weekend for a scan, where they diagnosed something called a 'subchorionic hematoma' luckily baby was fine. I started bleeding again a couple of days ago, still am! It's a very worrying time 😕 sending love x

I can't believe they told you not to come back next time, how horrible. Had you had sex at all before the bleeding? My midwife told me at my first appointment that sometime sex can aggravate the cervix and cause bleeding, not in everyone of course, but can do in those with a sensitive cervix.

Hello lovely,

I saw your post and just wanted to let you know about my situation in hope it may give you some reassurance in some way. I had a small bleed at 6 weeks, was terrified after a previous loss, went to the epu and saw little baby with a heartbeat and I had a haematoma which is where the bleed came from. Fast forward to last weekend, I had a bigger bleed, like someone just burst a balloon, it went every where and then had red bleeding like a period, I had to wait all weekend, eventually had a scan on Tuesday at my epu and there was baby, as happy as ever, moving around and measuring later than I thought, 12 weeks 2 days, there was blood around the sac which again is why the bleed happened. I was discharged form the epu and told I may bleed again. It is terrifying when you have a kind of bleed but not all bleeding means the worst so I just wanted to post this to try to help in some way. Wishing you all the best ❤️
