I am currently 7w5 days pregnant and went for a fu scan at my early pregnancy unit. They said baby was measuring 8w1 day with a strong heartbeat. When she was looking at the rest of my uterus she could see 2 small black circles where my placenta was forming. She’s asked me to come back to make sure it is not a partial molar and I’m panicking. anyone had anything similar / reassuring they can share? pregnancy after loss is hard

I had a partial molar some years ago. I’m a bit confused by this as there was no baby and no heartbeat.

Did they measure your HCG levels and do you know what they were?

Hope you have some time to look after yourself today, I found it hard not to spiral a bit. I found going for walks and eating out with DH helped and things like a bit of yoga.

If you google partial molar pregnancy it will tell you that there is no chance that a healthy baby can be born. It will then talk about rare exceptions but with extreme complications.

I can tell you this is not true because I have a relative who was born as a result of a partial molar pregnancy. She is in her 20s now, even though the doctor said abortion was the only solution. I don’t want to say any more on here as because it is so rare anyone who knows me or her will know exactly who I am talking about.

I would wait and see what they actually find as it’s early and they aren’t 100% sure yet. There is always hope x
