So I’ve got a daughter she’s 2 and half, and my first pregnancy no concerns etc I’m pregnant and had my booking appointment the other day, they said they would make a referral to social workers because I had an overdose in 2014???? This is like 12 nearly 13 years ago, never had this issue in my first pregnancy what so ever, bare in mind I was young parents where going through divorce etc, im obviously a fully grown married woman now, and this is genuinely crazy that they are doing this and never done this in my first pregnancy? Can anyone give me advice what happens ?

I would just be very calm and explain your life was very different at that time. And if everything now is good I would let them see this. I would not question the referral too much because it’s happened. Try to think of it as a safety check that hopefully will find that you and your children are very safe.

Sorry this has happened to you. It isnt very proportionate given it was many years ago, life was different then and they have been no further concerns. You have a young child where I am guessing no concerns have been raised. So it is historical. Seems like they are being very risk adverse. I am sure you have nothing to worry about, I would be surprised if anyone contacts you from childrens social care, they might make further enquiries to make sure there are no concerns, but they will get loads of inappropriate referrals. Enjoy your pregnancy.

You don’t have anything to worry about. At most it will be a conversation with a social worker nothing more.

It's a good thing that social services are more involved now after what happened to Courtney Gartshore and her baby...

There is nothing to worry about in your case, they will see everything is normal now. Say you haven't taken any drugs in 16 years and it will be fine

I had to have a social services assessment during pregnancy for mental health. Honestly its just routine I doubt if it will be more than a phone call for you.
