What do you mean by personal themed? It's not clear.

Those are just generic gifts, @PregnancyTreat. They’d only be personal if you’d had a long and detailed chat about what she currently uses and what she wants to swap to having researched absolutely every possible brand for their positive pregnancy effects.

There is a book by Emily Rollings called Birthday Letters to my Baby. It’s a book that your DIL can write in each year around the time of the baby’s birthday to record things about that year. I think the idea is that they hand it over one day, but I might keep mine forever!

Or how about a gift card for a spa that offers pregnancy themed treatments?

For me I always loved a decent sized dressing gown. Some nice skin care, maybe a pregnancy massage ?

The greatest present I think anyone has ever bought me was MIL. A whole crate of my favourite (soft) drink. I was so dehydrated in hospital after giving birth, and tied to the sofa BFing after, it was magical.

Everyone else, blah blah flowers and nonsense.

I miss MIL a lot.

Someone gave me a gift bag filled with things for when I went on mat leave that had things like some chocolates, a book, face mask etc to help me relax
and then another post birth gift bag with things like coffee and a travel cup, more chocolates, a deliveroo voucher, comfortable breastfeeding friendly PJs, a gigantic water bottle.

My mil bought me a really lovely loungewear set before I went into hospital to have dc2, she also got me something before I went into hospital with the other dcs too but this loungewear I really remember clearly as it was so soft and comfortable and perfect for November time, really warm and she’d bought matching socks to go with it because I always have cold feet. The set was a 3 piece, the vest was breastfeeding friendly with a clip that undid on the straps and then the top layer was a zip up affair that I could cuddle the baby into aswell.
She’s so thoughtful and lovely even now, 20 odd years on, I’m so lucky to have her!
