Petrified of abortion pill

I’m due to take the abortion pill tomorrow and I’m so scared. I’ve read so many horror stories I’m that scared and upset I can’t get out of bed :( in the past I’ve had abnormal cells removed from my cervix twice and both time I hemorraged after. I’m so scared the same thing will happen or the pain will be too much.

Do you have someone who can be with you throughout the process?xx hugs to you hunni

I’m glad. Make sure you have access to anything you would normally use for period pain, so heat pad, painkillers etc. 🫶🏻

My dd aged 23 did this last week. She was absolutely terrified after reading so many horror stories online but she said it wasn’t as bad as she imagined. The worst bit was feeling quite sick and crampy but then it was basically like a heavy period - I was with her throughout and she said she’s actually had worse periods. I think unfortunately people only tend to post the bad stories. Hopefully it will be okay.

A few of my friends have been through this and although they were all very worried before hand all three described it as a slightly heavier than usual period. They took some extra rest and were kind to themselves, and had painkillers etc. but they were all positive about the experience. Hopefully with your partner by your side it won't be as bad as you are expecting.. sending hugs xx

It's a horrible thing to go through emotionally but I was with my daughter when she had to go down this path. We made sure we were prepared with pain killers, hot water bottles etc. We watched films she had previously enjoyed and just snuggled. I can't say it was nice but it really wasn't bad. You will be OK. Good on your partner for supporting you.

So sorry OP. I am so glad you have such a lovely boyfriend to support you. It sounds like you have made the best choice for you. Plan something to look forward to for you with no fixed date, just when you’re feeling up to it. Doesn’t have to be impressive, just something nice for you.

I had a good experience with the tablets in the sense it was genuinely like a heavy period with bearable cramps

the worst part is going to the loo and feeling like something is passing into the toilet . I was only 5 weeks but I did find this traumatic .

look after yourself as your emotions are likely to be all over the place over the next few weeks .
