Dropping percentiles

Hey,
Currently 27+4 and had a private 4d scan today which was lovely! However when she looked at baby’s growth I noticed she said they weighed in at 2.5lbs, so around the 23rd percentile. Everything seemed fine. When I came home I was looking through my notes are realised baby was on the 50th percentile at my 20 weeks scan. Obviously this has worried me a little. I have an nhs growth scan on Tuesday due to pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy, so definitely will clarify it then with them, but in the meantime just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar? Have been having a bit of a stressful and anxious time lately so my brains prone to thinking the worst 😅

I know it's worrying, but remember that these scans are not at all accurate: there's an awful lot of scope for human error. So it's likely that the first scan was a little over and the second, a little under.

  • this was the case with mine (a very healthy baby whom I'm currently breastfeeding.

Hang on till Tues, and you'll find out I'm right xxx

Thanks so much for this message. 🙂 I had my nhs growth scan today and little one was on the 30th centile but the sonographer said all was well. My notes show they’ve gone down one centile since 20 weeks but no one commented on it. I have my 28 week midwife appointment on Thursday so will ask then 🙂
