Heavy bleeding at 8 weeks

I had a private scan last week at 7 weeks, baby measured 6w 6 days with a heartbeat.

Fast forward to this Thursday evening, I sat down and felt a sudden 'gush' and a damp feeling. I looked down and on the sofa was a patch of blood. I ran upstairs to the loo and wiped, there was a huge amount of blood and a few clots. For the next few hours it came in smaller 'gushes' and a couple more clots. Cramping too, I'd say 4 in terms of pain on a scale of 1-10.

Since then it has been like a light/ medium period. Not filling pads but enough to be visible on pads. My local EPAU can't see me til this Monday afternoon. I'm in limbo, exhausted and trying to keep it together for my young daughter.

I'm not really sure why I'm posting on here, maybe someone has had similar and can give me their story? Anything, whether it be a good or bad outcome. My last 2 pregnancies ended in miscarriage (one blighted ovum, one we found issues at the dating scan) so I'm naturally fearing the worst 🙁

Sorry you're going through this and that's awful you've got to wait until Monday, early pregnancy units really should be open every day of the week! That's a good sign your baby is measuring on track and you've seen a heartbeat. The bleeding and clots could be caused by a subchorionic hematoma, they are fairly common but completely understand you'd be very worried following two previous miscarriages. Good luck for Monday 🤞

So so sorry you're going through this. Monday will hopefully come around soon!

I had lots of bleeding in my last (healthy) pregnancy , hope this can give a small bit of reassurance x

I had heavy bleeding at 12 weeks with one of my pregnancies. Heavier than a period. Went on to have a healthy baby.

Thanks all for your encouraging words! The bleeding has stopped now so I'm taking that as a positive sign 🤞 I'll update the post once I've been to EPAU tomorrow x

Good news! It was a subchorionic haematoma! Baby measuring bang-on for dates. Phew!
