we're going to a birth rehearsal about a month before DD at the place where I do pregnancy yoga, and the NHS antenatal classes...both only come to about 10 hours total though

we can't afford NCT and I was all up for hypnobirthing but can't afford that either (yah boo sucks)....are there any other classes recommended, maybe that have a natural delivery side to them - breathing techniques etc?

NCT do offer reduced class rates & payment options...DH was on minimum wage & we had HUGE debts when I was pg with DS & my local branch were only too happy to accomodate my haphazard payments when we had enough money available. Worth persuing imo...never be to proud to ask

Someone posted something similar earlier, NCT are a charity and so should be able to accomodate everyone. Good Luck.

ooh, if you send them a letter stating your situation they'll either reduce your fee or not charge you at all. a woman i know did this after her husband lost his job.

some hypnobirthing trainers offer classes instead of 1-to-1; are these still too much?
It is absolutely well worth doing if only for the info on removing the "fear" (see threads on painless labour and things you wished you had known about labour and post-labour.

Can also get hypnobirthing books and cds - maybe try your library? If they don't have, then perhaps they can order them in?

Does your hospital offer anything?

Yoga and Pilates instructors sometimes offer antenatal classes too.

And I think Sure Start sometimes do classes - Google "Sure Start" and the town where you live.
