Hi everyone, first time mum and struggling with choosing the right pram!! Does anyone have any recommendations?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Can you give us a bit more lifestyle info?

Will it be used for countryside walks or do you live in the city and take lots of public transport?

Will you need to fold it down regularly, pack it into a boot? Are you/your partner particularly tall or short? Do you want to future proof Incase you have a second baby while the first is still using the buggy a lot?

I've had a Bugaboo Fox2 since 2021 and it's about to be dug out for its third baby, an absolute workhorse been very happy with it. I think the fox is up to a model 5 now so I'm sure it's even better/lighter/easier to fold etc now

Totally depends on your lifestyle; where you live, priorities Etc. I’d avoid a ‘travel system’. Spend your money on the best possible car seat brand new. Then get a second hand buggy. Babies shouldnt be in car seats unless travelling in the car, it drives me mad how many you see in car seats on buggy frames.

We usually get out of the car with the baby to quickly run into a store or do nursery/school runs. It wouldn’t make sense to move the baby from the car seat into the bassinet of the pram every time.

I definitely wouldn’t take the baby on walks in the car seat, but moving the baby in and out of the car is very useful when you have a travel system.

I have 3 children and would really recommend the Mamas and Papas prams- stylish yet well built and practical.
We had a sola travel system for our DD1 and DD2, which is now 10 years old and still going strong- only reasons we don't use it for baby DS as his main pram is because unfortunately the car seat isn't compatible with our cars. However I still use it as a second pram for walks etc, and we have the mamas and papas Occaro travel system as our main one now which is also really good!

Personally I disagree and think travel systems are a godsend!
Yes ideally a baby should not sleep in the carseat for any length of time, but sometimes it's so handy being able to transfer them quickly and easily onto the pram without waking them, when popping into a shop for a short time etc.

But the issue is that car seat thst comes with then if often poor quality. Better to get the best car seat; a suitable pram but then get specific car seat adapters

I have the Nuna Mixx Next and love it but it's quite bulky so no good if you're getting on public transport a lot.

I found it really helpful having appointments at John Lewis and Mamas and Papas to help choose a pushchair as they Demo them for you and you get a discount. I got the Nuna from Mamas and Papas plus a carseat and cotbed!

There are no perfect prams, just ones that suit the stage you are in
Buy second hand, then don't feel bad about reselling and changing as your life changes!
