Multiple big bleeds in pregnancy - any positive stories?

Hello. I’m looking for some positive stories here 😅

I’m 12+5 and I’ve had two big bleeds from subchorionic haematomas.

The first one was 7+1 after my first scan (IVF pregnancy). It was like two water balloons popped and I had a clot half the size of my palm appear. The clinic was relaxed and said the internal probe probably dislodged it. Bled on and off for the next 3 weeks

The second was last night. Also bled through my clothes but about half the amount of the first time. Again a scan showed everything was fine although a new haematoma is inside my placenta, only small but one to watch.

I was feeling really positive but this has knocked my confidence. I did have a miscarriage earlier this year but was starting to believe this is going to work out

NIPT test came back low risk and we did test the embryo. Just wondering if anyone else has had multiple big bleeds like this and still been ok?

Thank you so much in advance xx

My friend who was pregnant with twins had 2 subchorionic hematomas and bled regularly throughout the first trimester. It was very distressing for her and she went to the early pregnancy unit each time to check on them. Both babies were absolutely fine and the hematomas eventually went away. If you're taking blood thinners (often given in IVF pregnancies), speak to your doctor about stopping as it will just make the bleeding worse. Best of luck x

I did, also IVF baby. I bled on and off from 8 weeks to 18:weeks, some of them big bleeds with clots. Each time I feared the worst but she is now a talkative 8 year old! The SCH finally absorbed, but I was told to take it easy, no sex or heavy lifting.

Mine weren't IVF but had huge bleeds with both of my babies, like someone had turned on a tap. They are now 19 and 16 and perfectly healthy.

I also had a persistent subchorionic hematoma, multiple big bleeds throughout pregnancy, and my son is now a strappy 15 year old. He was born 6 weeks early and had pathological jaundice but fully recovered.

I found it extremely stressful though! Good luck and be easy on yourself xx

Bled a lot in my last pregnancy starting at 4 weeks, spotting once/twice a week then some random big bleeds! Never knew why as they never found a reason!! Stopped around 24/26 weeks. Healthy baby boy!

This pregnancy (currently 12 weeks) not a spot!
Very strange!!

I had one big bleed at about 20 weeks with my first.i woke up from a nap and felt a gush, which was blood. It turned out to be a UTI and I was fine after that.it was weird as I had no UTI symptoms.
