Do we try for the 3d child?

I just want to start by saying we have 2 healthy, happy children. We don't care about any potential childs gender we just seem to be stuck in this limbo of do we or don't we.

I've been on the copper coil since the birth of our youngest son nearly 3 years ago but we just can't make our mind up! I'm due to start ovulating in the next 2 weeks and part of me thinks we should have my copper coil removed and try and if nothing happens then that's our answer but if it does....that will be equally exciting! Am I nuts? or is this completely normal thoughts when you originally thought your family was complete?

We already had two healthy babies. For a while, we couldn’t decide whether we should have a third, so we kind of just left the idea there. Then, out of nowhere, my husband told me he had been thinking about it a lot and that he wanted to have a third. So we tried, and it happened in the second month :) It is very early but we are so excited!

I believe you feel truly done when you make the decision to be done. For me, I knew I would regret not having a third, but I would never regret having one more child.

I think that if you can afford it and you’d be happy with a third then why not? It sounds like what you want so why not give it a go, rather than regretting not trying :)

I found the decision to have number three the hardest decision in that my hormones fully wanted another baby but two children tends to be the norm and we had two really chilled out and well behaved kids, no major medical issues, both at school so we were past paying nursery fees. Logically it just seemed crazy to risk the lovely balance we had going on.

Luckily for baby number three though I’m not a particularly logical person. I don’t regret it for a moment - all of the fears i had when we were just deciding seem silly now. He is however a huge ball of chaos and has taught me that I know fuck all about parenting non-compliant children.
