Hi! I’m 15 weeks pregnant and getting a little bump now, I’m normally a stomach sleeper (I know it’s super bad for your back but it’s the only way I can sleep!!) obviously I now need a pillow that keeps me on my side but overwhelmed with the choice out there!! Any help? 🙂

I was in the same boat as you last year trying to choose one. I ended up getting this pretty cheap one from Amazon as just couldn’t justify spending loads on one of the big brands. I was actually so pleased with it, and used it every night from about the stage you’re at now until well after baby got here. I’m 5’8” and found this pillow great as it’s very long. I used another friends pregnancy pillow while staying at her house while pregnant and didn’t like it anywhere near as much as it was just too short to do much to help me.

Obviously I haven’t been able to test lots of different ones but I just thought I’d put my recommendation out there so you know the cheap ones are okay!

I’m also in the same boat as OP, this does look super comfy, did you find the ‘pillow’ part quite firm or soft?

ManyATrueWord · 05/08/2026 21:05

Same. I got an enormous U shaped pillow from eBay so I could sleep on my back or my side. It was 6ft long. I bought a replacement when I had surgery years later.

BBHugme is expensive but worth it. You can find them second hand and the cover is machine washable.

my hand was twitching over the buy now for this on boots’ website, it’s so expensive though that I didn’t want to buy it and hate it 🤦🏻‍♀️

This looks good! Is it a soft pillow for your head? Or is it quite firm?

I fear with a U shaped pillow I’ll just roll onto my stomach again 😂 did you find it helped?

You can sleep on your stomach for as long as you find it comfortable. I kinda do a semi side sleep now as my bump stops me from rolling fully over and I'm 34 weeks. I have loads of normal pillows as the main issue is when the acid reflux kicks in so I have to be very upright.

I can't imagine a single, specific shaped pillow would be very comfortable as you get very restless and need to move about alot.

LimpRat · 06/08/2026 07:42

I found one with washable cover at tk maxx baby section for under twenty quid and it's good for side sleeping (not pregnant, just falling apart and need support 😂) Much better than an Amazon one I had.

NormaNormalPants · 06/08/2026 08:08

I adored my BBhugme one. Saw me through 2 pregnancies, I shed a little tear when I finally sold it. DH on the other hand rejoiced that he no longer had to share a bed with it 😂 Sold it for virtually what I paid for it so was a worthy investment IMHO.

The best pregnancy pillow for me was a rolled up duvet. Can mould it into any shape and can use it after pregnancy :)
