I've got a major major burning pain on my skin under my bump on left hand side, it is where my ligament is as ive felt it pull when i sneeze or turn over fast etc. But this is constant if i stand or walk the burning is unbelievable. When it first happened i had just used toilet cleaner and i genuinely believed i'd given myself a chemical burn. it was filling with tears soaking myself in the shower to rinse it. nothing has appeared on the skin but the burning continues a week later.

It burns like when you have an injection and they warn it will sting. Ive had the stretching pains but this is different, not stitch like but caustic burn-like....anyone shed some light?

Google just shows ligament pain, unless ive actually ripped it, i cant believe its just stretching? is it?

How many weeks pregnant are you, and does it go when you rest ?

chocbiscuits · 26/06/2008 22:46

Doctors wife, sounds odd, think you might have to see a doc

I don't know what that is but I have also developd an area on my bump that feels sore in a sun burnt kind of way but only if it's touched. How PG are you? It may be that the muscles have undergone a sudden stretch and are objecting a bit??

Hi,
I had this with my first pregnancy and remember it being pretty painful. The midwife had actually had it during her pregnancy but couldn't really explain what was causing it. She said it may be something to do with the nerves in the skin. I would go to the doctor/midwife anyway just to get peace of mind.

Sorry i couldnt get on the net since posting. Thank you for taking time to respond to me. I'm 20 weeks, yes it goes if i stay still and rest but if i stand and stay still it starts and walking is excrutiating. Walking today, it was burning so badly that i had to stop as it was exactly like if you pull a muscle but really hard, sudden and the burning just spread. i couldnt walk. today was the worst as ive walked the furthest but it was like a chinese burn that doesnt stop, imagine if someone gave you a chinese burn and just kept twisting, thats exactly how it feels. i guess i better tell midwife then.

Without actually seeing you it very much sounds muscular.
Listen to your body for a few days and rest - if it hurts stop .
Hope this helps x

Thanks for all that posted and im just updating in case anyone else has same thing, pain got much much worse over last two days and i can no longer stand or walk for longer than about 10 minutes. Spent yesterday in a delivery room having been asked to come in, they examined me and said ive torn a ligament in my groin where it meets the bump. they said if i cant walk i have to be admitted but there was blood all over the doctors stool in the corner and so i said i'll manage!! have to go back on thursday to be monitored again. treatment they are unsure of at the moment, walk where i can so keep muscle moving but take painkillers every 4 hours. if i still cant walk it'll be physio!
