Free dentistry - what do you need?

What paperwork do you need for free dental treatment? I've got a free prescription card, but it doesn't say anything about dental treatment and I don't have my MATB1 form yet.

I don't have a dentist at the moment and need to sign up with one. I want to make sure I've got all the right stuff when I go.

Just your nhs exemption card that you get through the post, that's all i had to flash at my dentist when doing the paperwork. Your midwife had to send off the paperwork to get this so you shouldn't nbeed your matb1 also. Your nhs exemption card is for all hnhs treatment, docs and dentsist!

I didn't even show my card, I walked in, they said 'oooh you are pregnant'. You get treatment for a year post partum anyway so don't worry about rushing too much.

I got free check ups with out showing anything but they were very reluctant to do any treatment with my old fillings while i was pg because of the mercury in the old amalgam fillings.

matb1 is for your employer - they need this in order to get the SMP refund.
