Do these 17-week scan photos suggest a girl to you too?

I had a private scan at 17 weeks 6 days, the sonographer was new, I’m kinda just reassuring myself if you agree it’s a girl too. This is my second baby, first was a boy and it was obvious! But I find these photos conflicting, unless it me! 😂

I can barely even confirm that’s a baby from the scans. I’d be asking for a re-do.

I wasn’t asking if it’s a baby or not, but thanks for the comment 🙃

Yeah that's a terrible set of photos and not a proper potty shot at all. Of course it may be that the sonographer got an excellent moving view of the genitalia and is as sure as is possible that it's a girl, but wasn't able to capture that in still photos. But it's not possible to tell anything much from those fuzzy scraps you've posted 😂
In two weeks you'll get your NHS scan anyway and hopefully they can confirm for you.

Point entirely missed.

The photos are terrible, nobody can say whether it is a girl when you can barely see the baby.

That definitely looks like a girl to me, you can see the three white lines! Looks like my gender scan at 17d5w and she was a girl too x

Flyingdolphins · 29/07/2026 15:12

Yes the photos are not clear but you can clearly see the three white lines that suggest girl, especially in the second photo. (Three girls here so very familiar!)

Stegosaur · 29/07/2026 15:46

Oh I can see the legs now! I couldn't at first. However, in the photo that says 'Its a girl' I can actually see four small lines, not three. So I wouldn't like to confidently say girl from this photo. But the sonographer will have got a much better look so you can rely on what she said. If you think she was too new to be reliable (if a private scan she may not be very qualified) then you'll have to wait for the NHS to confirm.
