Third pregnancy with two young children and feeling completely torn

Please don’t judge me, I never thought I’d be writing something like this. I’m pregnant with our third baby and I honestly don’t know what to do. We already have two children, my daughter is 4 and our youngest son is only 9 months old. I feel completely overwhelmed and the thought of another baby right now is making me so anxious.

I’ve spoken to my partner and he’s happy about the pregnancy and doesn’t want me to have an abortion (I know ultimately it’s my body and my choice but it doesn’t help that he wants the baby) I feel awful because I don’t feel the same way, and it’s caused arguments between us. I feel guilty, scared and completely torn.

I also want to add that I had antibodies in my blood with my second pregnancy which made me a high risk pregnancy, I had to have blood tests weekly, onto specialists to have scans on baby’s brain etc and baby can be very poorly when born (so lucky that wasn’t the case for us as baby had the same blood type as me!) Those antibodies go on to every pregnancy you have after, so that’s another big reason for me!

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you cope? Did anyone have a third close together and end up feeling differently? Or did anyone have to make a really difficult decision when you and your partner wanted different things?

It sounds really silly but I’ve got my 30th birthday coming up, I’ve just started getting back into exercise and feeling so much better about myself, we’ve got some trips planned and the thought of being pregnant again terrifies me! I also have just announced my brand new salon opening and returning to work in September 🥺

Please be kind. I’m not looking to be judged, I just feel so lost and would really appreciate hearing from people who’ve been through something similar.

Think about the children that are here already.
Do not let anyone guilt you.

No advice. Just I’m in the same boat. 2 kids, oldest is almost 4 and the youngest is 16 months. Still breastfeeding my youngest. I’ve been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since Jan 2022. Similar position. Very torn. I keep saying it’s a wanted baby but so poorly timed. I am so enjoying being back at work and having some freedom. I’m working towards a work exam for a promotion which I’d have to postpone for a third time. My body is still not fully recovered from my first two births. Next years plans scrapped, again. It feels so different from our unexpected second pregnancy. Just so torn. How are you doing now? Sending love xxx

I'm in a similar situation, we struggled to conceive our first children and my first child actually IVF. Second took a good year of trying.
well one mishap and not using protection this time and I'm pregnant. Absolutely gutted to be honest and feel so alone with it. Feeling sick and dizzy and very pregnant which doesn't help. I went to the abortion clinic but ultimately could not go through with it. It saw the heart beat on the scan. I'm still really struggling to come to terms with it, my current children are 4 and 18 months. No advice just sending hugs x

It’s ok to terminate if you want to, OP. It might be the best decision in your situation and you don’t need to let your husband or anyone else persuade you otherwise.
