When was your LH surge?

Hotdoughnut · 27/07/2026 15:29

No not really. Once in fertile window? Stop tracking and just do every other day.

ByLoudPeachPlayer · 27/07/2026 15:35

The 20th I think, just going by app

I was advised that having sex 4 times a week is normally required.

ByLoudPeachPlayer · 27/07/2026 15:52

yes probably true. My partner has been working away a lot of the month only home at wk ends for most of July unfortunately. wondered if somehow we had managed to time it ok

You can't just rely on the apps they're often not that accurate for ovulation. Get some LH strips, when you get a positive the egg will usually be released within 12-36 hours from then. The best day is usually the day before ovulation but any time the three days leading up to and also the day of is also effective. So we soon as you get a positive DTD. Good luck OP, I am also trying but have been for many months now.

Thanks very much for this. we are only just starting to try. I fortunately fell pregnant unexpectedly with my first so actually have never used strips etc. thank you for the advice and I wish you luck on your journey xx

Aim for the day you ovulate (usually around day 14) and 2 days beforehand. You don't need to do it super often but just aim for the days with the higher chance :) you still have a chance this month if your app was right about your ovulation date.

If you read it within 10 mins of dipping it I'd say that's looking positive. Maybe take a couple next time just those aren't showing very clearly.

ArthurLee · 30/07/2026 14:54

Those are definitely positives imo! Congratulations!

TBH, and I mean this kindly… who knows?! ❤️
When I was trying for my first, we timed everything perfectly. I took my temperature, tracked ovulation, we were on it like it was a military operation… and we weren’t successful the first two cycles.

Then the third cycle? We only did it once. My predicted ovulation kept moving, and I was absolutely convinced I was out.

Well… the “I’m definitely out” cycle is now nearly 4 years old. 😂

So honestly, until your period arrives, you’re not out.

Crossing absolutely everything for you! 🩷🤞🏻

Looks positive to me! Although the line looks broken? I’d try another test if you have one, but it does look promising

weirdly, I did this one midstream and then also collected sample during the same wee. This one came out like this and the other one (dipped in the sample) was completely neg so not getting my hopes up!

Make sure you're following the instructions as that type is usually dipped in urine for a certain amount of time to get an accurate result. If mid stream it may have ended up too wet affecting the result. Keep us updated :)

@ByLoudPeachPlayer ah that's a shame, hopefully it happens for you soon. Ovulation testing is helpful to pinpoint your most fertile days and i like the Premom app to log all the data :) my husband used to work away when we were ttc our first so I know how frustrating it is.
