What’s wrong with me? Extend pain at 33 weeks

Hi everyone,
I have had constant pain in my stomach and back that reach the same level of pain I had when I was 4/5 cm dilated with my other children. I can’t sleep at night. I vomit almost every single thing I eat. I’ve been to triage 3 times to be assessed, each time they gave me pain killers, took my blood pressure, urine test, monitored baby and then sent me home, but the pain is so bad! I’ve never had it with any of my other children, I had mild cramping and back pain but nothing like this

Go back to your Obstetrician until you are happy with answers.

Have you had your appendix removed?
Have you injured your back?
Could you have a UTI?

I haven’t had my appendix checked, no UTI and no back injury. It started with my ribs hurting and then the pain became worse and worse, now it’s my stomach and back, shortness of breath (like the feeling of having to yawn constantly but can’t take a deep breath), pressure on my pelvis, and nausea

I agree, you should go back to triage. You need your appendix, gallbladder etc checked. Have they done bloods when you've been in before?

Triage keeps just monitoring the baby and taking my blood pressure and sending me home. They don’t have any explanation as to why it hurts and they’re not taking my blood or doing a scan.
I called 111 but they just referred me back to triage
I’m not sure what to do, the pain feels like labour but my cervix is closed

I would call triage again and say you have been advised to attend triage to determine the cause of your pain and shortness of breath. At the very least they should be taking bloods- this could indicate infection, they could check for preclampsia although is unlikely if your blood pressure and urine dips are normal.

Does it feel like contractions in that it comes and goes or is it constant pain? Sorry they aren't being thorough, it's very poor.

the pain is always there but it worsens but from time to time my stomach tightens and it gets worse
they ruled out pre eclampsia because my blood pressure is normal

Definitely insist on bloods in case it's an infection. That can cause these types of symptoms.

Thank you guys for insisting going to triage was the right thing to do. I was worried I would be sent home again, but you saved my baby’s life!

They confirmed labour contraction and while I was being monitored, baby’s heart rate dropped, it turns out I was having a placental abruption.

Baby is well as of right now. If I may ask, I don’t know your belief system, but if could you please make a prayer for her or keep her in your thoughts. I’m so scared

I'm so sorry that's so scary. Glad you were in hospital at the time. I'd definitely put in a PALS complaint later because they were dismissive initially if something so serious, so they can do better next time.

Oh my goodness, so glad you went back. You and your baby will be in my thoughts, hope the care you receive now is better than before.

Thank you guys. I went to check on her this morning and the doctors told me she was very poorly. She’s sedated. They tried to lower be oxygen but she didn’t do well. She shows normal brain activity but they are concerned about the fluid in the lungs, they believe it’s been there for a while (I’m thinking probably when I first started having pain three weeks ago). They’re doing a bunch of tests on her including genetic testing.

Firstly, congratulations!!

Secondly, I've been there. My DD had fluid on her lungs and pulmonary hypertension. She stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks and had lots of interventions. Take it slowly, celebrate each little win. I will pray for her 🙏
