Evening.

This morning I got a very, very faint line on a pregnancy test. I've had cramping on and off for about a week now, convinced my period was on its way. This morning after the test I had some very light pink discharge/spotting when wiping. Put a pad on expecting a loss - we've got a history of early losses. But it stopped. tmi- Came back after a bowel movement in the afternoon then stopped again. I did have this with my last baby at the same time so I know it can be normal but with her I had darker test lines so I was less anxious I guess.

Is there any hope? We have a 5 month old and a toddler so this was not a planned pregnancy but we are hoping it sticks and will happily welcome another baby into our family nonetheless.

thank you x

There is hope. Cramping isn't unusual in pregnancy and I've had a little bleeding with two of my pregnancies, both which resulted in full term births. I don't think it's uncommon to have a little bleeding. If the cramping or bleeding gets worse though, maybe talk to your midwife?

There's still hope, the spotting could be nothing. Really hope it sticks for you

Where are you in your cycle OP? Is it still early to test, as this could explain the faint line and the bleeding could potentially be some implantation bleeding. I’ve had bleeding throughout, some light, some heavy, with babies at the end. I hope everything works out well for you. Try to get some rest.

Thank you both. Just checked and the spotting has got heavier. I am physically very tired and my body just feels so rough. As this wasn’t planned we are going back to our original agreement of reviewing whether we start trying for our third baby in a year or so. I’m mid 30s so this really isn’t ideal despite knowing it is what’s best.

I’m so angry at all of it. Waiting a year just to review and then trying if we go ahead, waiting and then 9 months of pregnancy. I do in a way feel like this is/was our only shot. If we do lose it I’ll be getting a coil because I can’t go through this again. it would be our 6th pregnancy, 3rd child.

Thank you. Honestly I don’t know where in my cycle I am because according to my health apple app I am 3 days overdue AF. But then when I click no flow it pushes my ovulation forward each day. so I think I’m roughly at this point 12dpo.

It’s all reassuring what people are saying but because this pregnancy was unplanned, if we lose it, we go back to our original agreement of reviewing in a year whether we want to try for a third or not. It’s so far away and I’m mid 30s already. I really really want this to stick. I’m reluctant to go ahead with trying in a year. It’s so far away.

My faint line and spotting as just turned 4m old! And it also happened after a BM and stayed for a few days. It was bright pink.

ive spotted with all 3 of mines and had slow line progression. Wishing you well 💞

Thank you for taking the time to post 💕 my spotting didn’t continue through the night but this morning it has turned more of a red colour. It’s not heavy, yet, and I have no pain at all. But I’m expecting the worst 😔 unfortunately I have no sensitive tests left and more are arriving this afternoon. If this is a loss and the HCG doesn’t increase then I don’t even know if it will show anything by then. It’s all so frustrating. I’ll take one anyway

I just want to say mid thirties is really not that old for having a baby. The drop off in fertility is so minor, it's much larger when you get to 40. So don't stress on that account. Everyone I know who wants them has had kids mid thirties, including my grandma at 37! Even in the olden days people regularly had kids until their 40s.

Anyway I hope this works out like you want, and I know miscarriages are heartbreaking and upsetting. But this isn't your only chance.

unfortunately I think it was our only chance. My husband wants to discuss having another baby in a year. that is just a discussion, and that alone if so far away. He might even decide by then that he doesn't want another. I mean it would be for valid reasons - financially, physically for me etc. but I could potentially be waiting a year just to be told that he doesn't want another.

If we did go ahead I'd be at a minimum 38 when the baby would be born, and that is something I just don't feel comfortable with. I don't have easy pregnancies so it would be a lot on my body. I get for some people it works out but I just don't think it will for us.,
