Home birth with suspected small baby

Please share your positive home birth stories when you had a suspected small baby.

Baby is measuring under 10th percentile although everything looks normal otherwise.
My first baby was 10lb at 36 weeks so this is all new territory for me.

Scans have a huge margin of error, 20% either way.

DC1 was a home birth, he was 6lbs2. Apparently that's a small baby, seemed fine to me!

My home birth was 9lb10 so I'm at the other end of the scale, but I declined fundal measurements towards the end because I didn't want them to send me for a growth scan and play the 'big baby' card against me. I could feel baby every day and felt comfortable with the growth of my bump.

I think if they're just (predicted) small and following the centile it's fine. Some babies are big or small just like some adults are naturally tall or short. If their growth appears to be dropping off then that's a different story, could be a sign of IUGR. Which if they were seriously worried about they'd want the baby out quickly.
