Ive had awful stomach ache since about 2pm, its coming in waves, sometimes in my back and sometimes with what i would call a bh.
thought/think its bad wind so took deflatine and had a warm bath, but its still there and i know im not going to be able to sleep

Any advise would be warmly accepted.
Im almost 37 weeks btw

it sounds like labour tbh
have you called midwife for her opinion?

avenanap · 25/06/2008 22:22

Are you in labour?

I think you should phone the hospital. What is bh?

mydisguise · 25/06/2008 22:24

no i havent, this is my 3rd baby and with my other 2 i just KNEW i was in labour. I havent noticed a pattern to the pains yet. guess i'll just have to go to bed and try and sleep and see what happens

No. Don't go to bed. Pain's your body's way of telling you there's a problem. Phone the hospital and tell them. They will be able to advise you. Don't leave it.

FrannyandZooey · 25/06/2008 22:26

well it sounds quite like my labour
I hope you get some rest but I think worth phoning midwife and anyone else you would want to know (eg partner if needed to come home or whatever!) just in case

mydisguise · 25/06/2008 22:28

It really does feel like bad wind though. Im sure if its labour it will hit me eventually and i'll know to ring hospital

ok
best of luck
I think avenap has a point - there could be something else happening? best to get checked out?

avenanap · 25/06/2008 22:31

Bad wind since 2pm? Give them a call and get it checked. They won't mind. Where is the pain exactly? Is it over bump/under bump/on the top of bump?

mydisguise · 25/06/2008 22:34

pain is over bump and sometimes in bk

That does not sound like wind to me to be honest with you. I do have some medical training and I strongly suggest that you do contact the hospital. It may turn out to be painful bh but you should always get pain checked, especially as you have not had this pain before. Please phone them and talk to them. It's what they are there for. They won't mind. Has your pregnancy been normal?

mydisguise · 25/06/2008 22:50

my pregnancy has been normal except a brief blip where i had excess fluid and static growth but both resolved. I honestly dont think im in labour and i have experienced bad wind before. alos i guess it could be a stomach bug?

OP posts:
avenanap · 25/06/2008 22:53

I wouldn't chance it, seriously. It could be a sign of impending labour within the next day or two but I wouldn't take that chance. Phone them, they won't mind. If it is wind then at least you'll know. You might not be in labour but there are other things that could be happening. Get it checked.

FrannyandZooey · 26/06/2008 07:46

hope you are ok this morning?

mydisguise · 26/06/2008 09:07

the pain didnt stop last night, but didnt get any worse. didnt get much sleep, but ive woken up and the pain seems to have gone. I just feel like i got really really drunk last night so wondering if its just a bug or something.

Anyway Im off to see the midwife this morning, so we'll see what she says.

Thank you for your concern xxx
