I had my 7 week reassurance scan yesterday following a previous mmc.
The clinician found the gestational sac, yolksac and little fetal pole with a strong heartbeat and was happy with what she saw. The only thing that concerns me is that she said the fetal pole was measuring 6 weeks when I should be 7 weeks. She told me not to worry because there is a strong heartbeat and they tend to undermeasure due to point of a millimeter being able to put the dates out by a few days. She also said because it's so small the angle can sometimes make a difference.
The clinician also warned me there was a small bleed next to the gestational sac which is most likely from implantation, but wanted to make me aware in case I have a little spotting between my next scan in 2 weeks. She said she has only made me aware of this so I don't panic and any spotting in this instance will be normal, unless it's heavy bleeding and accompanied by severe pain.
Should I be concerned about the dates? I want to listen to the clinician but I'm still a little worried. I'm pretty certain on my dates as we only had sex twice during that fertile window and not since due to husband coming down with a pretty nasty virus.
Although perhaps I just have to accept that I will always be worried this early on due to the previous mmc?
