Hi,
Looking for advice regarding nausea in pregnancy and medication you can take. I’m currently 7 weeks with baby no.3 (if all goes well). I dealt with severe nausea and some vomiting in my previous two pregnancies and my first was particularly rough - vomiting at least once a day until around 16 weeks. I’m fortunate enough that it’s never developed into HG - which sounds absolutely awful.
But the nausea in this pregnancy is so severe. It’s all day long, 24/7. I haven’t vomited yet but I know it’ll become unavoidable soon. I eat healthily and workout intensely 3/4 times a week but I am now averse to basically any food, can barely climb the stairs without being exhausted and stomach is rolling, and I have two children to look after. It’s at the point where even opening my mouth to talk is nauseating. After forcing food down myself I have to lie down with my eyes shut for several minutes to stop myself chucking it back up again with the nausea.
GP prescribed me cyclizine which has been about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Still just as nauseous (if not worse) and also incredibly drowsy to the point where I don’t feel safe caring for my children - as soon as I sit down my eyelids are drooping.
I suppose I’m asking - what has worked for other people? And do people think I could be prescribed Xonvea even if I haven’t started vomming yet (though I know I will)? I’m living on the outskirts of Cambridge if that’s useful in terms of where meds are available.
Pregnancy is such a gift, that is not lost on me, but omword it can be so miserable and isolating.
